Steve McLellan has beaten off fierce competition to snap up a National Manufacturing Photography Award. He was named Best Amateur Photographer in the Manufacturing Product category at the final of EEF’s manufacturing photography competition held on Tuesday 20th November 2018 in Westminster.
Steve wowed judges with his eye-catching image of finished jacking pipes manufactured by Barnsley based Naylor Drainage which were awaiting shipment to all points of the globe (Steve is the Managing Director of pipe distributor JDP, a major customer of Naylor Drainage Ltd.). Judges felt the image was original and unique as the display of hidden colour resulted in a strong and interesting image.
Two of Steve’s images were shortlisted. The one below wasn’t selected as the winner, thought it’s actually Steve’s favourite:
Steve’s winning image will be shown on billboards in four major UK railway stations during January, so if you’re visiting Liverpool Lime Street, Charing Cross, Paddington or King’s Cross look out for them!
Our congratulations go to Steve on his very commendable achievement.
